A Minature holiday, a new car and a dog and a lipstick
Sarah & Jon have got a new car. Very exciting! it is an Audi A3 convertible in very shiny black. So on the 2nd April we set off for the Cotswolds. First stop was just off the A40 to put the roof back up as Sarah & I were suffering from hypothermia. (We were in the back & it's a bit windy @60mph) only 16 degrees as well. Burford was the next stop where we browsed for a while until our tummy clocks went off. The Swan inn at Swinbrook was the designated hostelry and a fine lunch was consumed in the garden. On then for another run until we ended up in Bourton on the Water for more browsing and ice creams. Back to Marlow for supper.
Sunday we ventured out to Cliveden, the weather was good enough to have the top down again although this time I was better prepared with a hat and did not suffer from hairlashing in my eyes. It was a beautiful spring morning lots of daffodils and magnolia's in flower. Drinks in the garden at Hillside and a late lunch. In the evening Ian & Sarah went to see 10cc while I inflicted Countryfile and Waking the Dead on Jon.
As for the dog & the lipstick - well you just had to be there!!!
Gran Canaria again!!
Well we find it hard to beat in every way. Easy to get to, good weather, good food and cava at €3 euro a glass and a good hotel. Yes we returned in March to our favorite spring time haunt to catch a few rays. We managed that quite successfully as you can see we had brilliant weather. However we both managed to catch a cold which was hard to shake off but managed to soothe our throats with a cold beer or 2. Not much to add as sunbathing & reading were the order of the day.
Disappointed in the lack of Hoopoes only managed to spot one one one day, our top total in November was 11 and we saw them everyday. Better luck next year.
