CV19 The Daily Record. Wednesday 14th May
51 days in Lockdown.
The day started with a really good body booster class, shower and then breakfast. It is a very windy day and quite cold. After doing some admin work and writing the previous days diary I decide I need to get the remainder of my plants in the ground. I potter about, it is cool to say the least but I feel better for getting on and doing something positive.
Ian walks down to the fish man and buys something for our dinner.
The garden centres are opening today, but there is no point in going there, as they will be so busy. I try to order sand and render on line but everywhere is out of stock. We are certainly not going to go and stand in a queue only to find that the goods are not there. I am getting fed up, there are things that we want to get on and do but are so limited and it’s getting really BORING and I am getting fed up.
It does not help matters that the NUFC thing is getting Ian down, he is very miserable today as it looks as though the deal will fall through. Although it appears to change by the hour and depends on what you read. I hope for all our sakes it goes through and quick about it.
The Blue Tits are suffering we think that several have died, not sure why but its at night so most likely the cold. The last few nights here have got down to 1 or 2 degrees and a strong northerly wind.
Our doctors have asked us to download an NHS app, which we do, but it’s a symptom checker and not a track & trace app.
The sun is out so we sit in the summerhouse with the doors closed, Willow joins us and we all have a snooze, just a catnap you understand!
Ian prepares the dinner, while I check online for pond plants. I can barely stand the excitement of it all.
I write a disgruntled email to a company that I ordered some sun loungers from, who told me they had been dispatched but TNT have not received them despite getting an email to say they will be delivered today the 13th. Ho hum.
Grilled John Dory with Sugar Snap Peas, Broccoli and New potatoes with Chilli. The fish was stunning; don’t very often get John Dory.
Other points of note.
A big push on getting the building industry going was the main points of the daily briefing along with getting the housing market moving.
Super news is an antibody test has been approved; it is 100% accurate however as some people have had very mild symptoms they may not have made enough antibodies and may not be immune. Still this is a major breakthrough.
I along with others I wonder if I had some mild dose of something back in Jan Feb if you remember I complained for weeks that I could not taste my food or smell things very well. (Wishful thinking on my part)
WHO warn the virus may never go away.
Russia now has second highest cases of the virus.
People flocked to beaches and country parks yesterday following the new rules.
There was a 7% rise in tube travel in London leaving the tubes packed with commuters as it is still on skeleton running schedule.
494 UK deaths were reported yesterday taking the total now to over 33k.
