Covid 19 The Daily Record. April 2nd 2020.
Ian is full of hell today. He feels that not many people were out on our street again last night to show appreciation for the NHS and essential workers. He is planning a campaign to leaflet drop, knocking on doors and shouting at people from the bottom of their drives. He has calmed down a bit after a cup of tea and some porridge. However I think he might be constructing a one-man band kit, buying trumpets and anything else that will make a loud noise for next Thursday’s applause at 8pm. Please help me by going out next week. PLEASE!
We just spent the day pottering yesterday. Ian walked into Marlow to pay a cheque into Barclays and whilst open and no one in the branch they were very reluctant to accept the cheque. I think after another Victor Meldrew moment they relented and paid it in I expect it too take a while to clear though.
The blue Tits nest is near or actually completed it has been lined with feathers, we have not seen any activity this morning. Will keep an eye on things and let you know as soon as we get any eggs.
We also took the opportunity to catch up with people and had 3 face time sessions and made several phone calls to people.
Ian is feeling really tired so another easy day for us.
Dinner was Cerdo, chorizo y cerveza. Pork with chorizo and beer. It was very nice too.
The facts
Worldwide infections hit 1 million yesterday.
50,000 people have died.
Boris is still in isolation but he managed to get out to applaud last night. (He does look poorly)
More testing has been promised but the antigen testing has failed. More kits are being imported from China.
