Its all getting a bit mundane.

Covid 19 The daily record 8th April 2020-03-21

Today Ian varnished the summerhouse. It was only a quick brush up so did not take him too long. It looks so much better.
I have dug all the large daffodils out of the back garden with a view to planting them in front of the yew hedge in the front. Been meaning to do this for years.

All the bulbs in my pots are now finished and they look a mess, so that is todays job to sort them out but I have nothing to replace them with.

The urge to go to B&Q is very great but there is no way I will do it. I tried to get an online order but despite saying they do delivery at checkout there was only a click and collect option. Not doing that thanks.

The weather is glorious, I am at least getting through some books that I need to get read, so a couple of hours on the lounger assists in this.

No walk today but got some exercise doing the garden.  We continue to stay in contact with lots of different people, still nothing from NHS volunteers though.

Ian continues to rant at the press for asking inane questions; it is rather amusing to hear him. Victor Meldrew eat your heart out.

Easter weekend is looming fast, we don’t usually go anywhere as too much traffic on the road. This year I don’t think we will even get to the bottom of the drive, as more & more people are getting out into the outskirts of Marlow where we go walking. We are limited as to how far we can go in the car. We might have to resort to going out really early in the morning.

My Midnight scented stocks have started to sprout, no other seeds showing signs of growth yet.

One of the Blue Tits roosted in the box last night.

Pasta & salad for dinner.

The News

People are getting restless as the 3-week lockdown nears its end.  However it has been reported that it will extend into May. Considering what is happening in France, Italy & Spain it would be plain stupid to do anything else.

There is some madness spreading about pets spreading the virus. I can understand if you have it then keep your cat, dog away from you. But some of the stories that are being reported on social media are dangerous and irresponsible. Luckily Willow sleeps all day and does not venture very far from home when he goes out at night.

Boris continues to improve and apparently is now sitting up in bed but remains in ICU.

938 people were reported to have died in the last 24 hrs over 7 thousand have died in the UK.
282 thousand tests have been carried out. These are increasing everyday.

Germany appears to have more control over the disease as the rate of infection and death is much lower than anywhere else in Europe.

All in all the news is still grim reading.
