The Bluebells are out.

CV19 13th & 14th April 2020.

Bank holiday Monday dawned a rather cool day, in fact you might say it was blimmin freezing, well to start with anyway. Still not venturing out we occupy ourselves at home. I do a bit of diary work and spend more time than I would like on the computer. Not Very much achieved in the great scheme of things. The sun came out and we managed to sit in the summerhouse & read in the afternoon.
The garden got watered, it’s as dry as a bone. The need for plants is becoming overwhelming, as the daffodils and tulips are past their best now. Soon I will have to clear away the dying leaves and have no where to put them.
There are reports of massive fly tipping going on. What is wrong with people? If you cant get rid of your rubbish then just store it until you can, it’s not difficult. Walking down a road in Marlow we encountered a black bin on the pavement overflowing with dirty nappies. They were not even wrapped up or in a bag just loose stuffed into a bin. Have people no concept of disease and keeping things as clean as possible especially at the present time. Also what about the poor bin men that have to deal with this. The same house had cardboard cereal packets piled outside, not broken down just strewn in the garden.

That’s today’s rant out of the way.

We were on our way out for a walk after not going over the threshold for 4 days. There were too many people around and too many idiots about to avoid. 4 of  8 of our neighbours have flouted rules this weekend 50% of people we thought had sense. How wrong can you be? Oh no I have gone off on another rant. I think perhaps Ian’s Victor Meldrew is rubbing off on me.

Walking down Seymour court road we spot 2 people out in their front garden, Mr  & Mrs Carrot, they get up to various activities and today they are enjoying the early morning sunshine.

We walk up Barnards hill and up past Spinfield school, along Spinfield lane into Bovingdon green. We stop to talk to a man on the other side of the road by the pond at the Royal Oak. They have cleared all the ground around it and also cleaned out the pond. It looks amazing, just waiting for the grass around to rejuvenate. The Ducks house is back in position too, the pond has also now got the added bonus of some fish donated by someone from Fingest.
Crossing over Chalkpit lane we take the footpath towards Munday Dean. The Bluebells have flowered it was only a couple of days ago we did this walk and there was no sign of them now they are everywhere. Up the steep path and we are out into Seymour court its just a short cut through the woods here and we are nearly home.
A lovely sunny Bluebell walk.

We have 3 eggs in the nest. The female is roosting in there at night. Good job as it got down to 3 degrees last night. The nest is so cosy, full of lovely soft feathers and very snuggly.

Ian has mown the lawn and hidden the cuttings in the black bin, naughty.

We have also washed and cleaned the cars.

Monday night we had further success with Yorkshire puddings and left over roast beef.
Tuesday night we had Gammon marinated in the remains of the Star Anise dressing and Asian salad with jacket potatoes.

President Trump is creating merry hell in the US. He has ceased finding the WHO, claiming they have mismanaged the Coronavirus pandemic.
Trump has gone off on a rant that puts him in a very poor light. he is saying that the lockdown must end for the sake of the economy Trump is also saying he has total control of the USA and what he says goes. This has angered state governors who are saying they have the control and Trump does not have ultimate power. As you can imagine this went down with him like a cup of cold sick.

The headlines in the papers are all about the economy. Dark Days ahead, worse than 1918 Biggest economic shock for 300 years etc etc.

Again the press  are scaremongering in these dark days.
The non reporting of deaths in care homes is causing a row.

Another 778 patients with coronavirus have died in hospitals across the UK, taking the nationwide total to 12,107.

Whilst some are clammering for a release from lockdown for economic reasons, for health reason they say there is still a long way to go.
A Scientist said on a radio programme, Covid 19 is here to stay and we have to learn how to live with it until there is a vaccine available. Just like HIV.

You seem to have a lot of inconsiderate neighbours in that there Marlow. But I agreee: what is WRONG with people? You get someone like the 99 year old raising #13m for charity and at the same time idiots who only care about themselves. grrrr!
