A wishy washy day

CV The Daily record Tuesday 12th May 2020.

50 days in lockdown –

I decided that I needed to break the routine a bit so dragged Ian down to the MAC garden to help jet wash the patio there. I started it while Ian went for a walk. 5 minutes in I am thinking what on earth possessed me to do this. After an hour I am getting on much better, Ian returns and is swiftly dispatched home to fetch coffee. With his help we managed to get it done. I am not sure if the jet washing or trying to get the stuck on cherry blossom off the artificial grass was the worst job. Anyway the garden looked nice and tidy by the time we left. It does not look like MAC will reopen before October if then. All the guests have underlying illness, are well over 80 and all fall into the vulnerable category. Tom Kerridge meals are being delivered to them 2x a week but the mental wellness of some is deteriorating badly. They need social contact and stimulation which is impossible to deliver without increasing the risk to them.
The weather today is very warm when the sun is out but not so when it goes behind a cloud. I take some of the garden rubbish from MAC and our garden to the tip. I only have to wait 10 minutes and have no contact with anyone, so that was ok.
Ian is getting demented about the NUFC take over, or rather lack of takeover. Everyday another thing crops up to delay or halt the proceedings.

Our facemasks (handmade not depriving anyone PPE) arrived to day.
My hairdresser contacted me and I have made an appointment for the 9th July (all things being well) By that time it will be 22 weeks since I last had it cut.

Peking duck pancakes for dinner, a really nice change.

Other points of note.

Furlough has been extended until October.
It looks as though trips abroad will not happen this year due to quarantine rules.
The housing market is allowed to restart.
The treasury says virus will cost 300bn and warns of pay freezes and tax increases.
The National Trust are talking about opening up with a book online and timed entry system, this is for outdoor places only.
Buck council has reopened country parks and also reinstated parking charges. That’s nice of them!

I see you took my advice about a gentle walk and an afternoon nap, lol. Looks like a good job jobbed though :-)
